The 120 Km race was divided into two halves of 60 kms each with know pit stops except for “Half Time”

Although drivers didn’t openly say, it was evident that many were not impressed with the format. Particularly on the smallest track on the circuit and with a short turn-around before Pukekohe in New Zealand next weekend.

In a big weekend for Brad Jones racing, Fabian Coulthard won the new format sprint race on Saturday while veteran driver Jason Bright drove Jones’ other main car to victory in the last race on Sunday with Coulthard coming in third behind Holden Racing team driver Garth Tander.
